Wacom Bamboo pressure sensitivity not working?

I’ve got a Wacom Bamboo tablet, and tried to install it on my new laptop (HP something or other, using Windows Vista Home Premium) and the pressure sensitivity won’t work. It wasn’t working in Photoshop (where I mainly intend to use it), but I tested it with the Journal program, and it wasn’t working there, either. Before anyone says anything, here’s a list of thing’s I’ve done:

- I’ve installed the newest Wacom Bamboo drivers for Vista off of their website
- I watched a tutorial about how to change pressure sensitivity on the tablet on the Wacom website (All Programs > Pen Tablet > Pen Tablet Properties > adjusting the Tip Feel meter), which didn’t help. No matter what I set it to, the pressure doesn’t change, only how hard I have to push the tip in to get it to make a mark.

So yeah, that being the case, I’m sure it’s just not registering the fact that the tablet is pressure sensitive. I was also getting an error in Photoshop when trying to set the brushes to work with Pen Pressure, which says “Control by pen pressure requires the use of a pressure sensitive tablet.”

So yeah. Any help would be most appreciated.

Thanks!

If it (the tablet ) is new — it sounds like it is faulty …. or not pressure sensitive.
    Send/take it back and complain!!!!
